PRACTICE / VOW OF THE DISCIPLE
Symbol practice
Learn the raid's 26 glyph names before a run, so your team calls the same word for the same symbol. This is practice, not proof of skill: nothing is saved, nothing is ranked, and you don't need to sign in.

Names: the guide's briefing, Bungie's glyph sheet (it labels Commune “Activate” and Ascendant Plane “Throneworld / Ascendant Realm”), Destinypedia and Vaexil's symbol reference. The empty dark ring you'll see on blank panels isn't a symbol, so it's not in the practice.
